Introduction
The only coastal freshwater lagoon in the province of Pontevedra, separated from the sea by a large dune. A refuge for birds.
Description

It is on the north coast of the peninsula, next to the beaches of A Mexilloeira and Area das Pipas. A large sand dune separates it from the sea.

It is part of the Umia-O Grove Intertidal Complex, a wetland of international importance (Ramsar) since 1989, and hosts various species of birds.

  • Route: the «Ruta da Lagoa da Bodeira» passes along its shore.
  • Tip: bring binoculars and respect the dune vegetation.
