Introduction
At the western end of the peninsula, between Punta Aguieira and San Vicente do Mar, the sea has sculpted rocks of surprising shapes: an open-air stone museum.
Description
In Galician, a «con» is a singular rock shaped by the sea and wind. This coast is full of them, and Con Negro is the best known; it is also called Con do Corvo because of the cormorants that perch on it.
The PR-G 116 «Ruta Con Negro» trail (about 3.3 km, just over an hour) runs along the coast to San Vicente do Mar, passing by the beaches of Barreiro and Castiñeira and their old wash house.
- Views: on clear days, Cíes, Ons and Sálvora islands.
- History: next to the rocks there are bunkers and galleries of an old military battery.
- How to get there: on foot along the Pedras Negras walkway, or by track to the car park between Aguieira and Barreiro beaches.
